Blog #17 - Q/A Reflections and Video
We want to express gratitude to those who attended our Zoom Q&A Event on April 27, 2025. A special thanks is extended to Jamie Love, Executive Director for Sex Positive Portland, for serving as our MC. Further thanks to Jessica Morgenthaler, Survivor Community Support, and Kamela Love, Accountability Supervisor, who served on our panel.
Our intention for the Q/A was to provide an educational experience centering Restorative and Transformational Justice and Community Accountability in sex positive communities. The world of sex positivity has changed dramatically since the MeToo movement, and calls for upleveling in sex positive, polyamory, sacred sexuality, kink, and ecstatic dance communities have permeated the field. As Jessica and Kamela shared during our Q/A, these communities are still in the process of figuring out how to best address misuse of power, consent violations, and community leaders who lack accountability.
The Q/A event itself and the subsequent answering of additional questions were both recorded so that anyone interested can view them (click here to watch). The first video includes Jessica and Kamela’s discussions about Restorative & Transformational Justice and Community Accountability, their descriptions of involvement in Cliff and Charity’s journey, plus their recommendations for Cliff, Charity and Empowered Pleasure moving forward. The videos been edited to remove any names other than those of the presenters for anonymity.
We shared several links during the Q/A and are including them here:
External Accountability Feedback Form: This Google form goes directly to Kamela Love, our Accountability Supervisor from Transform Into Love, and never goes to us (Cliff or Charity). If you have feedback, including any concerns, about our accountability process and/or this Q/A event, please fill out this form. If you feel you have been harmed by Cliff or Charity or at an Empowered Pleasure event, please complete this form to share your experience and make requests for a repair process which is funded by Empowered Pleasure (i.e. at no cost to you). You may submit the feedback form anonymously, although if you wish to have Kamela respond to your feedback, please include your contact information to facilitate a reply. If you wish for Kamela to share your feedback with Cliff or Charity, please indicate this on your form submission.. We are available for questions, clearing conversations, and critical feedback indefinitely.
Right Use of Power Institute: We have attended two trainings with RUPI, including their Basic Training (6 hours) and their semester-long Core Training. RUPI has provided both of us with significant insights about power dynamics, including how both our personal power and our role power impacted our leadership, including ways we misused that power unknowingly. We strongly encourage anyone interested in learning how to wield power more responsibly to attend a RUPI Basic Training, especially leaders in Sex Positive Communities.
Live Tantra: Live Tantra offers a Trauma-Informed Training for Tantra Professionals, that Cliff took in February – April 2023, which had profound impact on him. Charity participated in the same training from May-July 2025.
EP Accountability Blog: We have published many blog entries which track our accountability process, sharing challenges we’ve encountered, breakthroughs we’ve had, and much more.
EP Accountability Page: The Accountability Page on the Empowered Pleasure website ensures that all visiting our website have detailed information about our accountability journey.
The following links provide additional information about our training and involvement in other Sacred Sexuality communities:
Awaken as Love: James Stevenson founded Awaken as Love, a unique mystery school which combines shamanic principles, Tantra, Biodanza (a therapeutic dance form) and Integral Theory. We participated in Awaken as Love: Stage 1 in March 2024 and Awaken as Love: Facilitator Training in June 2024, and currently are apprentice faculty. We are considering facilitating Awaken as Love events after we have completed our formal Accountability Process. Awaken as Love is one of the first mystery schools to formally prohibit sexual relations between facilitators and participants as well as assistants and participants, which is one of the reasons we chose to train with them.
Jan Day’s Living Tantra: Charity completed the 18-month Living Tantra Training in 2022-2023. Cliff and Charity are pleased to be returning as assistants/apprentices for the Living Tantra Training 16: 2025-2026. Living Tantra is a form of neo-tantra that draws on the essence of tantra; a weaving together of all that is, a path of learning and growing that includes all aspects of our experience, including deep exploration of our shadows. Rather than a one-time peak experience which many neo-tantra schools facilitate, Living Tantra offers a cohort-based, 18-month in-depth experience that includes ongoing integration, support and depth to foster deeply embodied transformation over time. Jan’s program centers best trauma-informed and power-conscious practices.
Alan Lowen’s Art of Being: Cliff completed Alan’s 2-year Art of Being Training and has assisted Alan at more than 20 week-long Tantra workshops. In June 2025 Alan traveled to the U.S. and led his workshop Universal Experience at Cliff and Charity’s home. The Universal Experience is a remarkably inspiring and uplifting 3-day intimate encounter with your own death!
Thank you to all who have supported our process of accountability. We remain deeply grateful to all who have engaged.
