Blog #14 - Feedback and Accountability Forms Available

Hello! We hope you are all having a wonderful summer. As we begin our reintegration process, we wish to acknowledge the way we have harmed individuals and community and be accountable. We are certain that the findings from the Restorative Justice (RJ) report and accountability process are only a subset of the hurts and harms experienced.

We wish to inform anyone following our journey about how to express concerns, hurts, and additional feedback that you or others may not yet have shared for all sorts of reasons. Fear of retaliation, not wanting to “pile on,” not having the energy to re-engage with past hurt, trauma, or for a myriad of other reasons, you may not yet have named your pain and shared your story with us. We invite any people who have been hurt in some way by either of us or at one of our events and who have not yet shared your story, to fill out our Accountability-Related Feedback Form (which can be completed anonymously), now live here - www.empoweredpleasure.org/feedback . The Accountability-related Form will go directly to our accountability supervisory team - Kamela Love and Miles Hurwitz. Neither Charity nor I will see them. You can also fill out the separate Event Feedback Form anytime (at the same link on our website), which is meant for more general feedback (i.e. less related to a specific hurt or harm you experienced). This form is an opportunity to share general feedback about our events or organization and will go directly to us and can be filled out anonymously if desired. If you complete the Accountability-Related Feedback Form, you will be asked what, if anything, might support your healing journey, including if and how you wish for our accountability supervisors to reach out to you. You may fill out the form simply to inform them of a concern or a past hurt or harm that has not yet been named or addressed. You may have a desire for a facilitated (or unfacilitated) clearing conversation with either or both of us. You may desire a public apology, private apology, have recommendations for further resolution or suggestions for our further education. Some who originally completed RJ story forms may now wish to name themselves with or without requests for further communication and/or engagement. All feedback is confidential unless otherwise requested. These feedback forms will be available indefinitely, since Empowered Pleasure (EP) is evolving into a community that centers and prioritizes transparent accountability work. We wish for all previous participants in EP events along with those who will participate in the future to remind us of who we are and of our values. Both feedback and accountability are gifts. They are not only gifts to us, they are gifts to all those who walk through our doors. We recognize that feedback loops are a powerful way to evolve as human beings. If you know of someone who may wish to complete one of these forms who is no longer on the EP Facebook page or Meetup group, please direct them to the website link. Trust is built and rebuilt over time, and even hurts or harms from the distant past are invited. We do not offer this out of an expectation of forgiveness or moving on. Clearing conversations are not for the purposes of compromise (meeting in the middle), but rather to allow us to open our hearts continuously and to learn more about the impact of our actions and our failures to act. May we all continue to grow, heal, and flourish. Cliff and Charity
